Marriage Registration
1、Legal applicants : either of the two concerned parties, legal proxy.
2、Required documentation : Household Certificates & ID Cards of two concerned parties,seals, Marriage Certificate, and one photograph, legal proxy’s ID Card and Letter of Legal Proxy .
Marriage Registration(one of the parties concerned is a foreigner)
- Applicants marrying in the R.O.C.: 1) wedding certificate; 2) ID Cards of foreign spouses and marital status certificates with Chinese translation and certified (inspected) by R.O.C. foreign missions; 3) household registration; 4) R.O.C. ID Cards and seals; 5) one photograph; 6) the foreign spouse is to submit his/ her Chinese name declaration certified.
- Applicants marrying abroad: 1) wedding certificates with Chinese translation and certified (inspected) by R.O.C. foreign missions; 2) household registration; 3) R.O.C. ID Cards and seals and one photograph; 4) Identity Cards of foreign spouses; 5) if the foreign spouses are unable to return to the R.O.C. with their R.O.C. spouses, the foreign spouse is to submit his/ her Chinese name declaration certified by R.O.C. foreign missions.
Divorce Registration(one of the parties concerned is a foreigner)
1、Legal applicants :both of the two concerned parties(where the final divorce judgment has been delivered, either one of the parties concerned may apply).
2、Required documentation :Household Certificate, and R.O.C ID Card, ID documentation of the foreign spouse , divorce agreement or court’s written judgment and statement of final verdict.
Moving-in (Address Alteration) Registration
1、Legal applicants :concerned party, head of household, legal representative(s),legal proxy.
2、Required documentation : Household Certificates for both current and prospective households, ID Cards and seals of applicant and concerned parties, one photograph, Letter of Legal Proxy. Those who wish to become independent households must submit documents sufficient to prove ownership of the house.
Birth Registration
1、Legal applicants :biological parents, grandparents, head of the household, cohabitant, foster parent or legal proxy.
2、Required documentation : Birth Certificate, applicant’s seal, ID Card, Household Certificate, Letter of Legal Proxy.
3、For children born in foreign countries(including Mainland China),applicant must first apply for a Permanent Resident Certificate for the child from the National Immigration Agency, after which application can be made for initial Household.
Death (Death Announcement) Registration
1、Legal applicants :spouse, relatives, head of the household, cohabitant, legal proxy.
2、Required documentation : Death Certificate, Coroner’s report, court’s written judgment in favor of Presumption of Death, Household Certificate and ID Card of the deceased, applicant’s seal, ID Card of the spouse of the deceased, ID Card and seal of the applicant, Letter of Legal Proxy.
Personal Seal Registration, Replacement, Annulment or Certification
1、Legal applicants :concerned party, legal proxy, legal representative(s).
2、Required documentation : ID Cards of applicant, personal seal, Letter of Legal Proxy .
Name Change
1、Legal applicants : concerned party, legal representative.
2、Required documentation : Household Certificate, applicant’s seal and ID Card, one photograph.
3、Processing time: within an hour.
Household Certificate Transcription
1、Legal applicants:concerned party, interested parties, legal proxy.
2、 Required documentation: applicant’s ID Card, Letter of Legal Proxy, proof of the interest relationship or of blood relation (in the case interested parties).
Application for “Certificate of R.O.C. Naturalization Candidature” (with more than three years of legal residence and at least 183 days per year from the day of application)
- Application for “Certificate of ROC Naturalization Candidature” (including two photographs).
- Legal and valid Alien Residence Certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate.
- Alien Residence Certificate issued by National Immigration Agency (the length of residence should be continuous without disruption).
- The arrival and departure of dates of foreigners on immigration cards issued by the National Immigration Agency, Ministry of Interior (can be enquired online by household registration agency).
- Police Criminal Record Certificate issued by municipality and county (city) government police bureaus during the foreigners’ stay in the R.O.C.
- Certificates of sufficient property or professional skills to be self-reliant or to ensure personal sustainability (adhering to Article 7 of the Enforcement Rules of Nationality Act).
- Household registration copy with completed marriage registration (can be enquired online by household registration agency).- applicants failing to submit household registration copy shall enclose wedding certificates, identification certificates of foreign and R.O.C spouses. Those marrying in the R.O.C. shall also enclose the marital status certificate of the foreign spouses translated into Chinese and authenticated by R.O.C. foreign missions.
- Certificates of the basic language command and requirement of Article 3 of Standards for Identification of Basic Language Abilities and Common Sense of National Rights and Duties of Naturalized ROC Citizens.
- Certificate fee of NT$200.
* This certificate shall only be used for applicants who have lost their original nationality and have requested the R.O.C. to offer certificates to be naturalized into R.O.C. nationality. The certificate shall be issued by the municipal and county (city) governments after transference from household registration offices. The validity is one year.
* If the applicants’ countries do not require the certificate to abdicate their nationality, they do not need apply for the certificate.
Application for Naturalization
(with more than three years of legal residence and at least 183 days per year from the day of application)
- Application for Nationality Naturalization (including two photographs ).
- Stateless certificate or certificate stating the abdicating of original nationality or documents issued by foreign affairs institutes as required by the Article of Nationality Act.
- Legal and valid Alien Residence Certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate.
- Alien Residence Certificate issued by the National Immigration Agency (The period of residence should be consecutive without breaks in between).
- Certificates of the arrival and departure dates of a foreigner issued by the National Immigration Agency, Ministry of Interior (can be enquired online by household registry agency).
- Police Criminal Record Certificate issued by municipality and county (city) government police bureaus during aliens’ stay in the R.O.C.
- Certificates of sufficient property or professional skills to be self-reliant or to ensure personal sustainability (adhering to Article 7 of the Enforcement Rules of Nationality Act).
- Certificates of the basic language command and requirements of Article 3 of Standards for Identification of Basic Language Abilities and Common Sense of National Rights and Duties of Naturalized ROC Citizens.
